Reality & True Word of Yah: 2 Corinthians 6:14- The Meaning of Unequally Yoked Together

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

This sermon is one that Abba Yah has waited on with me for awhile now. I first had to remove the root of bitterness within me in order for Him to work my sexual behavior out of me completely. I will always be honest with you as that is Only what The Lord God Almighty expects. Remember we will Never be Perfect until Our Messiah comes back and The Lord God Resets this earth. Until then, we Must fight off the flesh everyday and no matter what urges we face, we Must Seek God First Always.

2 Corinthians 6:14

Be ye not unequally yoked together G2086 with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

(Hold that thought and follow along for this is very important!)

I had used sex like a drug. It offered positive feedback, sex offered a release which made me feel Amazing... in the moment then the shame, guilt, and memories of past sexual trauma would arise. Or thoughts about how I deserve to be treated poorly would start to ruminate until I would be in tears because I knew I deserved better. I would have sex with random men when I felt alone, or when my daughters were struggling with their own mental health due to their molestation and sodomy. I would use sex to numb the pain I felt after a break-up, or after something horrible. I had kept 3-4 men at a time. When I was in my 20s and dealing with so much alone, sex with all 3 men in one day did happen. I am not proud of this but I am So Thankful to Abba Yahuah for setting me free from my old self. Those urges still arise when trouble occurs, but I am definitely prepared to not engage. This is one reason The Lord God has kept me alone. When I do meet someone, I now try to only speak, date, learn and see them. I am no longer in the mindset of "I don't care" or "God Will Forgive Me later" or even " God Knows my pain so just this once" or " This person knows God so it's ok" Yes, I still have sex (definitely not like I did in my 20s, nor like I did before I gave my life to God on June 5 2016) which is why this sermon is not only important for you the reader, but for myself as well.

What Does Sex Do?

For both men and women, sexual stimulation and satisfaction have been demonstrated to increase the activity of brain networks related to pain and emotional states, as well as to the reward system.

This led some researchers to liken sex to other stimulants from which we expect an instant “high,” such as drugs and alcohol.

The brain and penile stimulation

A 2005 study by researchers at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands used positron emission tomography scans to monitor the cerebral blood flow of male participants while their genitals were being stimulated by their female partners.

The scans demonstrated that stimulating the erect penis increased blood flow in the posterior insula and the secondary somatosensory cortex in the right hemisphere of the brain, while decreasing it in the right amygdala.

The insula is a part of the brain that has been tied to processing emotions, as well as to sensations of pain and warmth. Similarly, the secondary somatosensory cortex is thought to play an important role in encoding sensations of pain.

As for the amygdala, it is known to be involved in the regulation of emotions, and dysregulations of its activity have been tied to the development of anxiety disorders.

An older study from the same university — which focused on brain regions that were activated at the time of ejaculation — found that there was an increase in blood flow to the cerebellum, which also plays a key role in the processing of emotions.

The researchers liken the activation of the cerebellum during ejaculation to the pleasure rush caused by other activities that stimulate the brain’s reward system.

The brain and the female orgasm

In a study of the female orgasm that was conducted last year, scientists from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, monitored the brain activity of 10 female participants as they achieved the peak of their pleasure — either by self-stimulation or by being stimulated by their partners.

The regions that were “significantly activated” during orgasm, the team found, included part of the prefrontal cortex, the orbitofrontal cortex, the insula, the cingulate gyrus, and the cerebellum.

These brain regions are variously involved in the processing of emotions and sensations of pain, as well as in the regulation of some metabolic processes and decision-making.

Another study previously covered on MNT suggested that the rhythmic and pleasurable stimulation associated with orgasm puts the brain in a trance-like state. Study author Adam Safron compares the effect of female orgasms on the brain to that induced by dancing or listening to music.

“Music and dance may be the only things that come close to sexual interaction in their power to entrain neural rhythms and produce sensory absorption and trance,” he writes.

Having sex has repeatedly been associated with improved moods and psychological, as well as physiological, relaxation.

The reason behind why we may feel that stress impacts us less after a session between the sheets is due to a brain region called the hypothalamus.

The hypothalamus dictates the release of a hormone called oxytocin.

Higher levels of oxytocin can make us feel more relaxed, as studies have noted that it can offset the effects of cortisol, the hormone linked with an increased state of stress.

Chemical Bonds are formed During Sex

Oxytocin In Women

Women have oxytocin levels that are 8 times higher than in men. For women, oxytocin creates a strong emotional bond.

It is released 3 times in a woman’s life at a very intense level:

  1. When she is engaged in pleasurable and close sexual activity. This hormone helps her to feel much closer to the guy she is with. It helps her to trust her partner more, and to forget his faults. It also helps her to forgive past hurts he may have caused her.

  2. During and after childbirth. As it releases, she bonds with her baby and the memory of pain she felt during child birth is partially forgotten.

  3. Breastfeeding. It could be all hours of the morning, mom is feeling worn out but she gets up in the middle of the night to breastfeed her child, forgetting about the world. Oxytocin is released and the bond between her and her baby deepens.

Oxytocin In Men

Bonding works a little differently for men, as men make visual bonds. For men, oxytocin is released during kissing, hugging, arousal and orgasms. This hormone has two main effects on them. Firstly, it makes them feel more connected to the woman they are with. Secondly, it causes them to subconsciously avoid other women who are more physically attractive than who they are with. So oxytocin creates a powerful visual pathway in his brain that bonds him with the woman he is with. This same pathway gets strengthened over time, helping the man to stay faithful.

What The Bible Says about Two Becoming One

Mark 10:6-9

6 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,[a]8 and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Genesis 2:21-25

So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made[h] into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”[i]

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Now we know what Sex does to our brain Let us Understand Why Abba Yahuah says we cannot be unequally yolked...

2 Corinthians 6:14

Be ye not unequally yoked together G2086 with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

G2086-Unequally yoked together-ἑτεροζυγέω heterozygéō, het-er-od-zoog-eh'-o; from a compound of G2087 and G2218; to yoke up differently, i.e. (figuratively) to associate discordantly:—unequally yoke together with.

Strong's Number G2086 matches the Greek ἑτεροζυγέω (heterozygeō),which occurs 1 times in 1 verses in the Greek concordance of the KJV

(When words are hardly used, the meaning is Very Important)

Biblical Outline of Usage of G2086

1. to come under an unequal or different yoke, to be unequally yoked 2. to have fellowship with one who is not an equal: 2Cor 6:14, where the apostle is forbidding Christians to have intercourse with idolaters

(Let us now break the meaning of unequally Yoked together apart. We will first begin with the word discordantly found in the definition...)

1. What does Discordantly Mean?

Definition of discordant-ly

a : being at variance : disagreeing (discordant opinions)

b : quarrelsome (a discordant family)

(Being unequally yoked together brings disagreement and conflict, it throws our Harmony with The Lord God off because God is not the Author of chaos and confusion. He wants Peace, Love and Joy and when our Union/Marriage/Sexual relationships are not of God...destruction occurs. King Solomon 1 Kings 11 and his many wives again are a great example. Jezebel 1 Kings 18,21; 2 Kings 9, is another one to keep in mind.)

2. What does Yoke mean?

Definition of yoke (Entry 2 of 2) transitive verb 1a(1) : to put a yoke on (2) : to join in or with a yoke b : to attach a draft animal to also : to attach (a draft animal) to something 2 : to join as if by a yoke 3 : to put to work intransitive verb : to become joined or linked

Etymology of Yoke as a verb

Old English geocian "to yoke, join together," from yoke (n.). Related: Yoked; yoking.

1 Corinthians 6:16-18

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Joined- G2853-κολλάωkolláō, kol-lah'-o; from κόλλα kólla ("glue"); to glue, i.e. (passively or reflexively) to stick (figuratively):—cleave, join (self), keep company.

Biblical Outline of Usage of G2853

to glue, to glue together, cement, fasten together

to join or fasten firmly together

to join one's self to, cleave to

Romans 12:9

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave G2853 to that which is good.

3. What does Heterozygeo mean?

The Greek word is heterozygeo and means to be “hitched up” or even crossbred with another animal who is not the same.

(This is where more science comes into play in modern day we know this work as Heterozygous)

Heterozygous is a state of having inherited different forms of a particular gene from each one of your biological parents. Now, by different forms we generally mean that there are different portions of the gene where the sequence is different. They may be inconsequential portions of the gene, or they may in fact be pretty important portions of the gene.

The word "heterozygous" simply means that your biological mother and your biological father, when they contributed their copies of a particular gene to you, they did so in a way so that the DNA sequence is slightly different. It can be different at one point in the gene, or it can be different at dozens and dozens of different points in the gene. Now, a heterozygous genotype stands in contrast to a homozygous genotype.

"Heterozygous" meaning different, "homozygous" meaning the same. Therefor we are not to lay with those who are Not Like Minded, Who are Not of The House of Israel. The Lord God Warns us of this in the Whole Bible. (I am not talking about gay/lesbian in this post. But what is being discussed is our Hearts, Minds and our Walk with God. If we are walking with those who are Not saved, then they are Different than us!!

Ezra 10:10-11

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange H5237 wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.

11 Now therefore make confession unto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.

1Kings 11:1

But king Solomon loved many strange H5237 women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

H5237-Strange-נׇכְרִיnokrîy, nok-ree'; from H5235 (second form); strange, in a variety of degrees and applications (foreign, non-relative, adulterous, different, wonderful):—alien, foreigner, outlandish, strange(-r, woman).

Nehemiah 13:26

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish H5237 women cause to sin.

When we are with someone who is not of God, they cause us to fall away from God. King Solomon had Great Wisdom and The Lord God took that away from him. We are told to run from such wickedness

When Abba Yah transforms us by Renewing Our Spirit with Him and taking out the old spirit He Has Changed our DNA. As Members of God we become Homozygous, or 1 Body In Christ/Yahusha HaMaschiach. We become similar and we can identify those who are God's According to their Fruits. We begin to think the same and understand this world in the same way. In modern terms it's called Christ Consciousness.

1 Corinthians 12:12-20

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

Romans 12:4-5

4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

When the Lord God transforms us and renews our Spirit with His we are a New Creation! This includes Hebrews, Greeks, Jews, Gentiles. All who come to Know The One True Creator!

Ezekiel 11:19-20

2 Corinthians 5:16-19

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[b] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling[c] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

Matthew 9:16-17

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

We are Not to join people based upon the flesh but upon Who is In their Hearts, Minds and Spirit!

John 15:1-5

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

When the Lord God Almighty Grafts us into Him we are no longer able to function as we did before Being Saved. His Word changes us and is Written upon our Hearts

James 1:21

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Engrafted-G1721 ἔμφυτοςémphytos, em'-foo-tos; from G1722 and a derivative of G5453; implanted (figuratively):—engrafted.

**Definiton of Engraft:

to become grafted and begin functioning normally

Etymology of Graft

"shoot inserted into another plant," late 15c. alteration of Middle English graff (late 14c.), from Old French graife "grafting knife, carving tool; stylus, pen," from Latin graphium "stylus," from Greek grapheion "stylus," from graphein "to write" (see -graphy). So called probably on resemblance of a stylus to the pencil-shaped shoots used in grafting. The terminal -t- in the English word is not explained. Surgical sense is from 1871.

Jeremiah 31:33

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

1 Samuel 16:7

7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Isaiah 59:20-21

And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

It is important that we stop living for the flesh and seek a companion that is of The Lord God Almighty. We have to see people for who they really are otherwise we will fail and we will be judged. As King Solomon Fell from Grace so too shall we if we keep going against The Word of Yahuah.

1 Kings 11:1-13

Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,2 from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel, “You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.3 He had 700 wives, who were princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives turned away his heart.4 For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.6 So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and did not wholly follow the Lord, as David his father had done.7 Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem.8 And so he did for all his foreign wives, who made offerings and sacrificed to their gods.

The Lord Raises Adversaries

And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he did not keep what the Lord commanded.11 Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.12 Yet for the sake of David your father I will not do it in your days, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.13 However, I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son, for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem that I have chosen.”
